Successful and entertaining evening seminar

Within the space of 12 minutes, 21 surprised participants had encountered butlers, dogs, crowns and Oscars and been thrown a gauntlet!
The delegates were attending the Breakthrough Seminar for Senior Leaders, organised by Cambridge Skills Tap and given by Dr Chris Thomas of Dale Carnegie Training at Eversheds, in central Cambridge, on a cold clear Halloween night.
Whilst ghosts, or at least “Trick or Treaters”, haunted the outside streets, we learnt that our memory was dramatically better than we ever believed as we effortlessly learnt a sequence of 12 objects in 10 minutes!
The practical use of this exercise was revealed after participants considered how to obtain that competitive edge and discussed the importance of personalities and other barriers to communication in interactive groups. The memory exercise helped to remember key leadership principles that could be applied in everyday business life.
With such a busy evening, stress was tackled before it could arise with some simple tools and considerations of how to manage time effectively!
Feedback after the seminar revealed that all had enjoyed the experience with 90.4% stating that it was beneficial either by introducing new ideas or as a refresher for those already familiar with some or all of the ideas!
