who are we?
Cambridge SkillsTap is a not for profit company limited by guarantee and its Members are businesses which supply portfolio working. The employees of these Members are Cambridge SkillsTap’s Associates and are typically independent consultants, portfolio workers and others who choose not to be tied to full time employment.
why do we exist?
Cambridge SkillsTap seeks to maximise the use of portfolio working by setting standards, by providing the infrastructure for both the providers and users of portfolio working and by marketing its Members and the Associates who work for them. It also plays a key role in regulating the relationships between its Members and the Associates who are employed by them: developing best practices, setting standards and recommending how contracts should be drawn up.
what do we do?
Cambridge SkillsTap is based in Cambridge and its immediate geographic scope is Cambridge and the Eastern Region. Its products are the services which its Members offer and its customers are enterprises in Cambridge and elsewhere. These enterprise may be in the public, private and not for profit sectors. They may be of any size but will typically be enterprises employing up to 200 people and with turnovers below £100 million.
